Presets

In Beamr, a preset is a set of parameters that define how an input video should be encoded. The Presets feature in Beamr Cloud streamlines the setup of encoding parameters by bundling them into easily selectable options. These presets can include choices for codecs, resolution and bitrate combinations for ABR streaming, and more, tailored to different purposes and outcomes.

 

Creating your own encoding configuration 

To add your own preset, navigate to the Preset page and click "New Preset." Follow the steps to define your preset: select an output codec (AVC, HEVC, AV1) or opt for "same as source." Next, configure renditions by choosing resolutions and target bitrates as needed. This flexibility allows you to tailor the preset for your specific needs, whether for optimization or bandwidth-constrained streaming.

Requesting a custom encoding configuration 

Beamr’s preset configuration supports our core offerings of codec encoding and rendition generation with CABR optimization. However, it does not offer control over every transcoding parameter as you might have with custom commands (e.g., FFMPEG commands). If you need a specific setup, you can request a custom preset to be added to your tenant. Simply provide your command recipe or describe your needs, and our team of experts will create a custom preset that aligns with Beamr’s core technology.
